About the font, I posted it in glass text tutorial by Erisian. It is named Alamak.

- Once upon a time a lot of effects were under 'Alpha to logo' in filters and also 'create a logo' (there was a whole lot of them) In the newer versions of gimp there are not too many buit in, so it is just up to our imaginations now and what we have learnt.

I was hoping others would add their effects too - I am running out of ideas and we could all show newbys especially what can be done
