Gotta say that is a unique name for a new Gimp Chat member.

I would say just make a path that you want your shadow on and create the gimp gradient (GGR).
Then right click your path layer and select path to selection.
Then select the gradient tool, and select your new gradient and just play around with the on canvas gradient tool until you get what you need.
