What you put as a parameter is the dimension [width+height] in which you want to get your outcome, the filter operates in any case with its own internal dimension

It is playing with layers. Changed the layer mode to it to Soft Light and closed eyes to the rest ones.
(look at the shot) I suppose I chose anothe colour for frame but that donesn't affect to the result.
