WHAT YOU SEE HERE?

Image

Are you thinking to a poor sad child wandering alone in a poor slum ?

That show how much BW could deceive you ! :hehe

She is Elvira, the 3 beautiful years old daughter of a friend,
she lives in a nice house has all the care and the food and even toys she may need .
She was not sad ..if she had that expression is only because in that very moment she saw and felt a gnat stinging her feet

Back to what you may see in the photo what in her hand is a real and working telephone with camera radio and mp3 reader included

what on the BG is not a slum's street but part of the garden of the house,
(that for the rest is very green and full of flowers and plant , only there is too much passage for grass to grow)

the visible building is not a poor house but just a separate storage place ,

But at the first glance most will just think of a poor child in a favela...maybe a orphan...

Thank to unconscious prejudice this work even more with photo of black or asiatic

But is the BW that could be really deceiving

Well someone has obviously dressed her with care in clothing that is not ragged and worn, her face is not gaunt like a starving child's, she is alert. No, not an orphan in a poor neighborhood. The neighborhood could be poor but the child is not nor is my first impression of her a poor, orphaned child.

Here the original with its color

Image

now is much more clear what already noticed by Oregonian:
"Well someone has obviously dressed her with care in clothing that is not ragged and worn, her face is not gaunt like a starving child's, she is alert."
you may notiice that not only her cloths are neither ragged or worn but are quite clean

Is more clear that she has a phone in her hand, the expression seems less sad (she was not sad at all
just was observing with attention the white stranger with a camera that popped out in her house
... and simultaneusly was hit on the feet by a gnarl)

Only the BG remain a bit tricky...

but again i am sure that even in the White House there is a corner that a good crop and a dramatic BW , could transform in a reasonable "Homeless shelter"

I showed this (using my phone) to some people at work, and asked them what they thought the picture was of. Everyone one of them thought it was a poor child in a poor neighborhood, such as Haiti. When I explained about how the way a picture is presented can create a wrong impression at first glance, they totally agreed.

Sorry PhotoComix, I just could not resist this.
Is the poor sad one-legged Chicken a victim of a landmine? :hehe

Were a lot of chicken of various age sex and size but i never notice a one legged one...but is true i just check the original RAW file and the chicken seems one legged even there.

Not sure if is the case of a perfect profile with the other leg just covered by the visible one...

Or if the poor chicken was a victim...in case i will rule out land mine and suspect the dog

A very peaceful and meditative dog that the owner is trying to transform in a scaring watch dog...

As only results i notice the poor dog doing brave attempt to scare if not human at least chickens

So i may not exclude the chicken innocent victim of the dog traning program

another shoot of Elvira (and another experiment with GMIC )
Even if much more heavily manipolated i believe this is much less deceiving of the BW

At least here will be harder think she as a victim of misery and starvation
