Thanks for sharing. Can you also share how you did this? For those who might be interested.

Hi Jappaloe63. My post has been flagged as spamy when I try to add the link.

Just make two more posts to bring them up to 5 then you can add a link. (Maybe reply to a few posts)

Before you posted your link I found a hand drawn one that was similar to yours, which I followed. I didn't know how to colour though until you showed us. This is pretty rough. I will try to do another following yours.

Thanks for your tutorial. It's very interesting. I've learned new methods.
Here my first try. :)

Very nice Issabella. :)
Tried it several times & I keep getting stuck :( . Cant do a proper gradient and since vs 3 has all the lock options I am not sure which to use. When I eventually got something to move only one layer moved not two even though I had two locked :gaah

Just exploring these shapes created by connag and in doing so I found a different way of creating similar shapes.

I used two concentric circular paths, which basically defined the width of the final shapes, and two centred hexagon shaped paths intersecting with both the inner and outer circles.

The points of intersection on the two circular paths gave me the start, end and mid points for a new path, from which I could create the target shapes as shown below. I then used one of my gradients to finish off these shapes. Obviously appropriate rendering can be used to emphasise a 3D view.

Not as nice as connag's graphic but all sorts of ways to get a repeating shape in a circle.

This using the gmic rotate filter and more than a bit of serendipity - never quite sure of the outcome.

Oh dear, It is meant for the odd spare 10 minutes and a bit of doodling ;) Do not like the result ? Then scrap it and try again when you have another spare few minutes.

You can of course, tweak the layers. The batcher plugin will apply to each layer (or you could use gmic - that applies to all layers). This one with batcher and a bevel.

I used RD' custom font, Skinnyhouse's Custom Font Trailing v0.4b and rich's tutorial. Of course, garagecoder in G'mic.
So, thank you so much.
