Gimp Chat RSS?

Hola!

Does Gimp Chat has an RSS URL? I'd be nice to stick that into my feed widget on my desktop!

You must have a add-on to do that. My FF has no such RSS symbol!

If it is ... tell which one it is. I'm sure you've been using it for quite a while and are happy with it.

RSS feeds can be had via: syndication.php

Most RSS reader's can auto detect the feed. The icon in the URL bar allows you to subscribe. Not sure how the latest FF handles that but I've never known there to be a add-on required to subscribe.

the new FF seems to handle it ok. It recognized the RSS without any issue. I am a google reader user so I'm not sure about how it does with the subscription though.

I got the widget working .. although the board has changed and I've refreshed the widget the feeds are still the same. Interesting!

Yeah .. I'm a Google Reader user too. I'm trying to see if there's a way to leach off of Google. Gotta be a way! Yahoo and MS leach off of their search results. *snicker*

If you just set it up, it might take a day or so for it to get accustomed to the feeds. I use Google reader via Chromium and its instantaneous. The new dev addition of Chromium now allows you to sign in to the browser and it auto-connects me to everything without needing multiple extensions.

RSS feeds are cached and the cache is updated periodically, so it takes a few minutes for new threads to appear.

You can also subscribe to Gimp Chat's twitter feeds.

I hope no one took me to mean that Gimp Chat feeds were instantaneous. I meant Google's processing is. As soon as the feeds are available, my G Reader RSS feeds with PSHB, are instantaneous. My apologies for not clarifying that.

Using FF 3.6, and no RSS-related add-ons.

I am using FF 6.02 and it doesn't show the RSS icon either.

Scratch that i just updated to version 8.0 :lol

Still no icon though.

Unfortunately not, mahvin. The RSS feed is for all new threads. Although, you can subscribe to a specific thread/topic and get email alerts whenever a new post is added to that thread.

I've seriously considered creating a "notification" email address for my phone that will send me forum notifications on my terms that way it won't interrupt me. Maybe that's your solution too Mahvin?
