Our host has changed the rules in the middle of the game and has notified us that we are exceeding the memory requirements under the current hosting plan. Please bear with us while we attempt to negotiate a new hosting plan. Until then, expect to see a few "Server Errors" while this problem is being resolved (or our account is suspended).

Thanks for your patience in this matter and know we are working hard to resolve the issue to the best of our ability.

I've noticed an occasional blip a few times recent Tux. It would be sad if we no long can upload viewable sized files here, but there are other and free options available. Hope this site doesn't get OXed (for those who remember ImageOX. lol). :)

The issue is not the size of the images or the amount of external disk space in use. It's the CPU's RAM allotment under the current hosting plan that is the issue. They have moved to a "cloud" model which strictly enforces CPU, SQL and RAM limitations per account.

Who's your hosting provider? This is crazy! Hope you succeed!

I was with GoDaddy for three years and then they got greedy! I dropped them and went with HostGator and they've been really cool the past two years!

I've made some adjustments and optimizations to some of the code and it seems to have helped. Let's hope that (and my threats to move to another host) has resolved the issue.

Thanks for looking out for us, GnuTux. Although it rests in your hands, what great hands to have it rest in. :yes

Thanks for the kind words. I'm doing my best to get this issue resolved.

I'm hoping I don't have to move to a new host. It's a jungle out there. :gaah

I'm the poster boy for HostGator. All I gotta say about them is you way way more then what you pay for!

But congrats on winning this battle and hopefully the war!

Thanks for the suggestion but I've looked at hostgator and their managed VPS is more expensive (with less resources) than I currently have. If you want cPanel, it's even more costly. If I were to have to go with VPS, I'd probably stick with my current host. Hostgator does have a pretty good rep, tho..

From the host...

Quote:
We have increased the resource limit for your account and monitoring the overall performance and failures for your processes closely. After updating the max memory limit for your account on the server it appears that your account is working fine. We have been monitoring this for the last few hours and have noticed that your average memory usage is within the new max limit set for your account.

However there are still some failures noticed and we recommend that you continue to optimize your scripts to reduce the resource usage and avoid any further inconvenience. There is no need to upgrade your hosting plan if the fail counts are not very high.

Hopefully, all is well again ...at least for now :jumpclap
