I saw this effect done in Photo Shop, so well you know...just like me to see if i could do it in Gimp 2.6.10 =)

not a fan of borders, and i see a black border around the front of the horse. not quite sure if you ment that to be there, other then that i like it

Can't wait for the tutorial. I saw this on youtube for adobe as well and tried for an hour or so to repeat it in GIMP. When I found and installed the Layer Style Plugin, thought I was home free but once I created my brush, the layer effect/style would not cooperate.

Many (probably all), effects done in PS can be obtained in Gimp, however in different methods.
I'll have the tutorial up soon. =)
