It happened to me last night as well as today. Today, when it does load, it loads slower than normal.

The Host moved everything to the cloud and all of the settings were messed up. It's a managed server and they had my resources messed up bad. My memory allocation was set to 0.

Anyway, it took them nearly two days to fix it and they claim I'll have more resources now than before. We will just have to test it out and see.

At least we're back up! :bigthup

What's this world coming to! Gimptalk up and Gimpchat down. Doesn't seem like the natural order of the cosmos!

in general, it was two days. I did manage to get in for a few minutes last night, but then in the middle of reading posts, it went off again. So to me it was two days, with intermittent availability.

The site went offline completely for 6 hours, which I assume was the time it took for them to physically move to the new "cloud" based server. After the site came back up, it seems like it was running a little slow but I didn't think too much about it until I came back online and saw this thread.

When I checked the Server Control Panel, I could see the resources allotments were all screwed up. The max memory was set to 0, the entry points went from 50 to 10 and everything I did seemed to spike the CPU to 100%. I'm surprised the site worked at all like that. I could have left the site online, but it was practically unusable, so I submitted a service ticket and put the site in maintenance mode until I heard back from the Host.

It took them quite a while to get around to fixing it. I think they had other unexpected problems in the middle of their planned maintenance. You know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and server admins.

Hopefully, we now have a little more memory, a higher CPU slice and double the entry points on this tier. We need to keep an eye on things so please let me know if y'all experience any performance issues or slow downs over the next few days.

Thanks!

You're welcome, he4rty.

It looks like we are still experiencing some problems. Resource usage is showing that our virtual memory allocation is always maxed out, even when there isn't much traffic on
the site.

I've submitted another service ticket and will have the server admins take a look at it.

If these problems continue, it may be that GC needs to move to another Web Hosing service, or possibly upgrade the hosting plan to one where more resources are at out disposal.

Thanks for your patience while all this is worked out.
