On "sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-packagers" there are new compilations of gimp with my specialities.
It's called 2.8.5, it is from the git-source from 2013/02/07

Has anybody tried it yet? I got it last night and a few old bugs gone, but I found two new bugs right off the bat.
New Windows installer download link

Just reporting that the sourceforge win gimp 2.8.4 installer runs quite smoothly here, the slowdowns and almost all tearing I experienced with 2.8.1 is gone.

Big thanks to anyone responsible for this compiled version (with all these builds around I'm a bit lost among authors), who is the one I can thank ?
