I got my tree up (in art, anyhow). First, the animated snow:
Next, a greeting-card style of the same subject:
I used GMIC's painting filter with default settings, then added tinsel with a modified version of O's spider brush and the lights are from the brush pipe with a full spectrum gradient. Added a nice message in a handwriting font with a second, black text layer behind and offset so the letters stand out a bit, a supernova tree topper and a fuzzy border. And the tree actually exists in my yard:

We can't afford any gifts out here, and nothing to put a tree on, so I just wrote a song, and I'm gonna play it on my guitar for Christmas for my family as I got no money, but I can still be creative, and try my best to keep peace.

Strangly enough the snow in the first image is going up when I look at it.

Mike, in Holland we don't celebrate Christmas with presents. It's all about being together with family.

We do have a Sinterklaas (the actual Santa) tradition on the 5th of December, but $$$ gifts seem ridiculous to us. Most people do "Secret Santa" for €15 - €25 per person. We do end up wrapping the presents in big self made presents. Like if someone loves music, you make a guitar from cardboard and put their present in there. And we write poems, really bad poems, where we make jokes about each other.

Me too, It is all about how much you spend to make the stores rich, and not about giving anymore. A nice big Christmas dinner with carols in the background would suit me just fine.

I love the holiday season, although my body hates the cold weather. I want warm snow that isn't rain!!

Ready!!! Everything is all baked, packed up, and ready for deliveries...now if only I can remember to load up the car and get things to their destination! The part of Christmas I love is reconnecting with everyone, the part I am not so fond of is the shopping...I work in a store, and the customers get pretty testy sometimes, not to mention that retail starts it's Christmas right before Halloween so it's a long haul of Christmas before it's actually Christmas.
