I created this video slide show for my Sister's upcoming birthday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRmQ9K6xtzQ

Around this time every year, I listen to this tune and I wanted to add some visuals to compliment the music. It was fun to make and I hope you enjoy it as much as do.

Lots of lovely images, nice song too.
I'm sure this video will help to make her special day shine.

Wow!
The images were very well chosen. :bigthup
But really loved the music, and I had to see who it was. :gimp :musik
I was surprised to discover that it's Judas Priest. :rocknod
This band I know the song breaking the law, and a few other. :rockon

Would never guess that this song, Last Rose Of Summer, would be that band.

I really enjoyed. :bigthup

I'm glad y'all enjoyed the slide show. :bigthup

Lyle, the band is Judas Priest.

Akros, yes JP is known for being "Metal Gods" but they are actually pretty versatile. They started as a blues band. They have quite a few non-metal tunes in their massive catalog.

Btw - Rob Halford is an amazing vocalist, with a true 4 octave range (octaves C2-C#6). Not many bands have that. He an old guy now and his voice is not what it used to be. All those years of screaming has taken its toll. :hehe

Dang, I'm surprised I was able to post this message without my internet going down. I'm sure it won't be up for very long, though. Charter's infrastructure is broken and it seems they are not willing to allocate the resources needed to fix it.

So, while they were climbing the towers, nothing has changed. I guess they wanted you to think they were fixing it. Too bad, I know it is very frustrating.

GnuTux, just curious what did you use to make the slideshow video?

They came out and told me to call the power company because they think there is a problem with my home's ground. They said there was voltage on the coax cable and it was my problem, not theirs. :hoh

The other 3 techs I had out specifically checked for voltage on the line and it was fine. They all confirmed it was signal fluctuation upstream on the line. Funny how there is suddenly voltage on the line.

Also, funny how it worked just fine for two years and all this issues started when they jacked up the price, moved everyone to a higher speed and provided new modems. Since then, my service is horrible. It's very intermittent, going up and down like a yoyo all though out the day.

Instead of calling the power company and an electrician, I think I'll call AT&T and have them install Uverse internet. Then, I'll call Charter Cable and give them the boot. :hehe

I went old school (because I am old school) and used a Linux app called dvd-slideshow. I used an older version of Fedora to create this. This package has issues with newer versions of Linux. It hasn't been updated lately. You might want to check out a package called imagination for newer Linux distros. It's GUI based and easier to use.

Any voltage, other than very low voltage, in that kind of system, has the potential of doing damage to your hardware.

I'm gonna dig up my meter and go back in behind them to confirm their claim. If there is voltage on the line, which I seriously doubt, it could be coming from them.

Even when there is nothing connected to their Cable modem, except for a laptop on battery, the signal still drops. I have just ensured there is nothing else on the same circuit their cable modem in on, except for a light switch. We will see how that goes.

Thanks, I was just curious I though you might have used GAP.
For slideshows I have, ffDiaporama. It's in active development and very good.
